Laundry: Laundry can be a very expensive but essential concern for students staying away from home. This expense cannot be completely removed but few would think of ways in which it could be minimised so that the money saved could be put to use for other essential expenses. This can be done by minimizing the frequency of laundry and washing clothes only when you have a full load in the machine.

Food: Food can be a big problem and the money that you keep aside for food related expenses needs to be managed very meticulously. Firstly, cook your food yourself as much as possible. How much ever difficult an option it sounds, it is indeed the best means to save money. Do more judicious grocery shopping from a place where you can buy in bulk at economical prices. Eating out, more so in an overseas land can be an expensive option. If you still have to eat out, the university cafeteria is a good idea, as the university cafeteria in most of the countries offers wholesome food at the most affordable prices.

Beverages and water: Drinking water can be one big expense that could take you unprepared in most of the countries. If you think of keep sourcing bottled water from outside to drink, it would be an exorbitant amount, rather invest in a water purifier. Though it is a one-time investment, it is beneficial in saving money in the long run. In addition to the purifier, also invest in a tea or coffee maker, whatever be your requirement so that you can economically keep supplying your beverage desired body the desired intake of caffeine without it pinching your pocket.

Try these tips, though they appear very basic but they can be very useful if saving money is your target.
